This autumn Orme-Brown will be showing our collection 'The Way' as part of the Goldsmiths' Centre's Shine Showcase! Over three months there will be a special launch event, an exhibition at the Goldsmiths' Centre, meet-the-maker events and you can shop the work of all 13 participants in the Goldsmiths' Centre's online store.
Following on from the participating in 'Getting Started' we have the exciting news that Georgie has been selected to take part in the Goldsmiths’ Centre’s new initiative - Getting Started: Stars in the Making 2021-22, putting jewellery and silversmithing talent in the spotlight and championing early career makers.
As the year came to a close I made the decision that, although beloved, my business name ‘TipToe’ was reaching the end of it’s tenure as a brand name that would be able to fully reflect all of my creative interests and everything I hope to achieve with the business in the future.
Fair Luxury is a hugely important organisation within the jewellery industry for makers who are passionate about using fair, ethical and sustainable materials. Their latest initiative to spur on makers is the Provenance Pledge and this February we have taken the pledge!
Dynamic Dunescapes is a valuable project to rejuvenating some of England & Wales' most important sand dunes for people, communities and wildlife. We were delighted to write a feature for their blog about our work and the ways in which we are inspired by dunes: ‘Footprints in the Sand - A jewellery journey’.
In 2020 Georgie took part in the Craft Council’s Hothouse program. Hothouse is a development program for emerging designers spread out over the course of a few months. It includes seminars, gallery visits, networking events and most recently a lot of time on Zoom….
